SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Spl Entry

If you’re an NCC cadet aiming to join the Indian Armed Forces through the NCC Special Entry Scheme, there’s a major update you must know. HQ DGNCC has officially revised the SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Spl Entry. This new policy will be implemented from August 2025 for the Spl-123 Course (Men & Women), scheduled for induction into PCTA in April 2026.

This change will directly impact how candidates are selected for the SSB interview stage. Understanding the SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Spl Entry in detail is crucial for maximizing your chances of success.

Eligibility Criteria Under the New Policy

To apply under the revised SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Special Entry, candidates must:

  • Hold a Graduation Degree from a recognized university.
  • Be in the final year of graduation, provided they complete the degree before course commencement.

This ensures that even students still studying can benefit from the new system.

How Shortlisting Will Work

According to the updated SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Spl Entry, candidates will be shortlisted based on merit calculated from:

  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate Performance → Maximum 50 marks
  • Graduation Marks → Maximum 50 marks

Bonus Marks – NCC ‘C’ Certificate

  • ‘A’ Grade → 50 marks
  • ‘B’ Grade → 25 marks

Bonus Marks – Graduation Percentage

  • Up to 60% → Nil
  • 60.00 – 64.99% → 5 marks
  • 65.00 – 69.99% → 10 marks
  • 70.00 – 74.99% → 20 marks
  • 75.00 – 79.99% → 30 marks
  • 80.00 – 84.99% → 40 marks
  • 85.00 – 100% → 50 marks

This dual-assessment system encourages cadets to excel in both NCC activities and academics.

Separate Shortlisting for Men & Women

The SSB Shortlisting Policy also specifies that separate merit lists will be prepared for male and female candidates, based on notified vacancies. This ensures fair competition within each category.

No More Cut-Off List Publication

Unlike the old method, the SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Special Entry will no longer publish cut-off marks for graduation. Since selection now depends on both academic and NCC performance, the process will remain purely merit-based.

What This Means for Aspirants

This change means you must focus equally on:

  • Achieving top grades in NCC ‘C’ Certificate exams.
  • Maintaining high academic performance.
  • Preparing for the SSB interview well in advance.

Final Thoughts

The revised SSB Shortlisting Policy for NCC Spl Entry is designed to identify well-rounded, disciplined, and capable future officers. If you’re aiming for a career in the Army, Navy, or Air Force via NCC Special Entry, now is the time to prepare strategically.

At GAPS SSB, we specialize in guiding NCC aspirants through this new selection process, offering expert SSB interview coaching and preparation strategies to help you secure your spot.
