Indian Army Agniveer Exam Pattern – Soldier Clerk

- The candidates would be required to answer 50 questions in one hr or 100 questions in two hrs as per the category of the application.
- 25% marks shall be deducted for every attempted wrong answer.

Indian Army Agniveer Phase 3: Medical Test
Candidates report to the designated Military Hospital within 5 days from referral and review the medical exam to be completed by Military Hospital within 14 days as per policy. The Indian Army may choose to conduct the following set of tests for the candidates.
- Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC
- Urine RE/ME
- Biochemistry
- Blood Sugar Fasting & PP
- Serum Cholesterol
- Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine
- LFT- Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT
- X-Ray chest (PA view)
- ECG (R)
- Tests for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Abuse.
- Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer
Air Force, apart from flying jobs, offers another attractive career option called as Airman. An Airman is the part of the staff which stays on ground and looks after the ground activities being carried out in Indian Air force. Check complete Air Force Written Exam details.
There are mainly two trades in which you can join Air Force as an Airman –
- Technical Trade (GROUP X)
- Non-Technical Trade (GROUP Y)
Technical Trade (GROUP X): This job profile involves maintenance and testing of aircraft and various equipments being used by the Indian Air Force. The job also includes maintaining, storage, organising and overhaul of other equipment, arms and ammunition present in the inventories.
- Candidates applying for the Science Subjects (Group X) need to attempt only English, Physics and Mathematics papers.
Non-Technical Trade (GROUP Y): As a non technical airman, the job profile includes assistance and support to the various functions on the ground. These tasks range from weather forecasting to maintenance of records and files of the various branches of IAF. Clerical work and paper work is also done by the non-technical airmen.
- Candidates applying for the Other Than Science Subjects (Group Y) need to attempt only English and Reasoning and General Awareness .
Candidates applying for both Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects (Group X-Y) need to attempt English, Physics, Mathematics and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Air Force Agniveer Vayu Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for Agniveer Vayu Intake of the Indian Air Force should possess any one of the following qualifications as per their streams.
Science Stream:
- Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Passed Three years of Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Passed Two years of Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Maths with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Other Than Science Subjects:
- Passed 10+2 examination in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Air Force Agniveer Adaptability Test
While Phase 1 of Air Force X- Y group selection involves a written exam, Phase 2 involves Adaptability test 1 (AT 1), Adaptability test 2 (AT 2) and Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
ADAPTABILITY TEST (AT) 1
AT 1 involves a series of Situation Reaction Tests (SRTs) which assess the candidate’s adaptability to survive in various geographical, social and climatic conditions. Herein candidates get 40 SRT questions with 4 options in each. Time scheduled is 30 minutes. The situations are from daily life.
ADAPTABILITY TEST (AT) 2
AT 2 on the other hand is a test of English proficiency. It involves Lecturette round and Group Discussion. AT2, as the name suggests, also tests your adaptability power but this time it’s a test of your adaptability to work, colleagues and employment. Communication skill, English spoken skills, confidence, and general knowledge are the main judging parameters. Herein the candidates are given a topic for which they have to prepare a speech within 5 minutes followed by its narration. Each candidate has to give a self introduction before starting the speech
Air force Agniveer Physical Fitness Test
- A Running task of 1.6 Km which is to be completed in less than 8 minutes.
- Bilingual test except English Paper.
HEIGHT:
Minimum acceptable height 152.5 cm.
Medical Examination
After successful completion of PFT, there comes a small Medical Examination. It is conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy. Medical examination would include Baseline Investigation of:
- Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC
- Urine RE/ME
- Biochemistry: Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Serum Cholesterol, Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine,
- LFT- Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT

Sometimes candidates may be called for a random interview. The basic objective of this interview is to assess the power of expression and social adaptability factors in candidates. After completion of these tests, consolidated marks are declared. If a candidate is having an NCC ‘C’ certificate then he is awarded with additional marks. Then after, merit is declared.
